Feet Print Ghosts

We did a fun Halloween craft the other day...feet print ghosts!! It was a super easy craft, but the boys still really enjoyed it. It probably had something to do with the fact that we painted their feet! :) They thought that was SO fun! I was planning on only doing one foot of each boy, but they really wanted to do both feet so why not? Dylan excitedly offered his stump to paint since we hadn't put his leg on yet. I LOVE his little stumpy print!

I let the boys paint each others second foot/stump.

I think they turned out SUPER cute! Kaden painted his name on both of his papers all by himself! Fun craft!

Cute story...so after we did all four prints, Dylan pointed out that his stumpy print was a circle. Kaden looked at me and said, "Mom, mine is different! What shape is mine?" I thought it was too cute that Kaden thought HIS foot print was the "different" one, as opposed to Dylan's lone stumpy print being the "different" one. :)

Wheelbarrow & Stumpy Skills

We got Dylan his trick or treat pumpkin for Halloween and he is obsessed with it. Carries around with him everywhere. So cute!

We had fun doing wheelbarrow with the boys the other night. They had a lot of fun too, as you can see!

While Bryson was doing wheelbarrow with Kaden, Dylan started walking around on his stumpy. He's been doing it more and more, here and there, but this was like, full on walking on his stumpy. Since Dylan has a much shorter femur on top of his shorter tibia, he has a MASSIVE difference between his good leg and his stumpy. Do you see how his leg has to be bent in an almost 90 degree angle in order for his stumpy to touch the ground? That takes some serious muscle! We're pretty impressed!

While Bryson was changing Dylan's diaper earlier tonight, he was pretending to eat Dylan's toes and stumpy saying that he was eating cookies and ice cream. Dylan was laughing and laughing. Even after he was done changing his diaper, Dylan kept sticking his stumpy up saying "Ice cream! hahaha" and Bryson would pretend to eat his yummy yummy ice cream stumpy! haha.

The Secret Is Out!

We've been keeping a secret, but it's time to tell the world!

It's true, it's true! We are SO excited to announce that we are expecting baby #3! The official due date is April 25th, which makes me 12 weeks along. We are so excited and can't wait to welcome this little baby into our family! We made that video right after we found out we were pregnant and that is how we shared the exciting news with our immediate families (making them promise to keep it a secret with us for a little bit longer). It was fun to hear their reactions as it clicked what we were trying to tell them. :)

Sweet pictures of the little one from our appointment today!! How cool is technology!! :)

We found out we were pregnant when I was just barely 4 weeks along and it has not been an easy 8 weeks. I had pretty easy pregnancies with the two boys. Barely ever got even the slightest bit sick with Kaden, had heartburn but even that was on the mild side. With Dylan I felt icky more often than with Kaden, but it was only occasionally at nights and never anything severe. The heartburn with Dylan was way worse than with Kaden though. This one I have been super sick/queasy ALL day long EVERY single day. I luckily have never thrown up, but have had a few occasions when I had to run to the bathroom thinking I for sure was going to. I have felt, quite often, that I would love to throw up because maybe it would offer a little relief, but at the same time, who really wants to throw up. :) However, the past week I have been feeling ever so slightly better and any better is a welcome relief. I have had moments here and there in the past week where I feel pretty decent and even when I am feeling sick, the severity seems to be getting better. So YAY!! I honestly don't know how you other women who have it worse off than I have had it can handle it. Especially when you have other kids (it's so hard to be mom when all you feel like doing is laying very still and not moving all day long!!). Props to all the women out there!! :) I'm excited to start feeling better and start enjoying the pregnancy a little more with the added relief. But honestly, I can't complain. I'm carrying a child! That alone is just the coolest thing and it never gets old thinking about that miracle. I feel incredibly grateful that the baby is doing well and that I am, overall, doing good too.

Kaden and Dylan are excited about the "baby in mommy's belly"! Kaden understands what is going on for the most part and likes to put his ear on my belly and tell me that he can hear the baby crying. haha. Dylan likes to copy whatever Kaden is doing or saying about the baby. They both like to say hi to the baby by talking to my belly. It's very cute! I can't wait for the baby to get bigger and for them to be able to feel it moving inside of me.

We Love Stumpies

We like stumpies in this house. :) The boys think it's hilarious when we are getting them dressed and their arms or feet get stuck in the clothes. They will yell out "STUMPY!! I have a stumpy!!" and they both laugh and laugh and laugh and play around with their "stumpy". I think it's cute. Bryson got a cute video of them the other night. I like how when Bryson asks Dylan where his stumpy is, he makes one with his hand instead of pointing out his "real" stumpy. haha.

Prayer Request

Do you see this sweet baby??

His name is Beau (my boys call him Baby Beau). We met Beau and his beautiful mama, Aili, through the FH support groups we are apart of and realized we live near each other. We have gotten together numerous times and have become very close friends. Beau is now 10 months old. I wish I had a recent picture of him because he is seriously one of the cutest little kids!

Beau has bilateral fibular hemimelia, meaning he has FH in both of his legs. He will be having a double below knee amputation this morning in about an hour. I ask that you say a quick prayer for baby Beau and for his parents. Pray for a safe surgery and a quick recovery. Pray that they will all find peace and comfort during this hard time. Thank you everyone!

I know Beau is going to do awesome and we can't wait to see Dylan and Beau running around together soon.

Our neighbors hate us...

I try really hard to be very considerate of the fact that people live below us (we live in a third floor apartment). I make sure the boys don't run around until after 9am and then they are in bed by 7pm so they aren't up late making noise or anything. During the day I am cautious of them running or jumping around too much and attempt to limit it to an extent, but let's face it...they are kids, they are boys, they like to run around and make noise and jump and be loud! Oh and in case you were wondering...a one year old toddler is typically a loud walker as they are just learning to walk and be steady etc., they're not very graceful...add on a prosthetic leg...there is a lot of "thumping" around. So yes, our neighbors hate us, as in called in complaints and bang on their ceiling (our floor) kind of hate us. Oh well, we try, we really do. Hopefully we will be out of this apartment soon. :)

ANYWAY...Dylan figured out how to jump the other day while we were waiting in line at the post office for 45 minutes. Like BOTH feet of the ground jumping all by himself!! SO awesome and we are SO proud of him!! So when we got home, I let them jump...and jump...and jump....because it was so fun seeing Dylan getting those feet off the ground and looking so proud of himself and Kaden was having so much fun being able to freely jump without me constantly telling him to stop. I'm sure the neighbors LOVED our jump session, but this was one time when I just didn't care!

Check out these mid jump shots! Their faces kill me!

And then I got some fun continuous shots of Kaden jumping over and over.

And of course I had to include some videos of Dylan jumping so you can see the action for real! Look how good he's doing!

So proud of this little man! That's a big accomplishment for any one year old, let alone for one with a fake leg!
